For Marketing and PR

Moving on: from tech to integrated social and PR at AgencyUK

After almost four years to the day, Thursday was my last day at Wildfire. Sad times, to be leaving so many inspiring people, clients, and that beautifully located riverside office. This was where I really learnt what joined up, results driven PR, looked like.

Given that context, however, I think my next step will make sense to many. Today I start at AgencyUK, the UK’s top independent agency as per The Drum’s National Census’ of 2014 and 2015, as the agency’s Social and PR Director. I think AUK’s integrated service offers brands something different but hugely valuable in the market. Marketing disciplines are merging because media as a whole is, and I’m relishing the opportunity to work alongside great creative, planning and tech teams to deliver all round stand out work that’s designed to work in that landscape.

It’s stepping away from specialising in tech as a client sector, but I fully intend for my love of tech to come out through the work itself.

It’s also a much more sensible commuting distance – as much as I love Wildfire’s riverside office, wow it was far away from home in west Wiltshire, and I’m sure being by the Avon in central Bath is going to be just as pleasant.

So if you’re in beautiful Bath anytime soon, say hello!

TechCrunch has two.

One, is basically the best one out there. Matthew Panzarino’s account of his experience taking the 6 and 6 Plus to Disneyland. It’s excellent as –

  1. It gives you an actual account of using the devices in a demanding real life situation
  2. It’s different to all of the other reviews, so it stands out

The other standard TechCrunch iPhone 6 review, does neither of these things. And it’s one of the only reviews I can’t be bothered to read in full because it just looks so terrible. Continue reading

How Twitter Analytics has changed the way I tweet

Twitter has now announced it’s opening its analytics platform to everyone. Which is a bit of a surprise to me as I thought everyone had it already.

I’ve had access on my personal account since July when it launched. Which is kind of odd as I don’t advertise through my personal account.
